How To Turn Every Weekend Into Your Dream Vacation
Do you remember the request to write about "How I Spent My Summer Vacation" back in the day in school? Probably that assignment was created in the hopes that you would recall something that was interesting and fun, and would evoke a sense of delight in you. Now consider this one. What did you do this past weekend? As you recall something from such recent memory did you use the time to catch up on chores? Or perhaps your weekend activity is nothing more than just a blur? Where does your sense of delight fit in? One can have adventure even close to home, and find wonder and delight at every turn. Challenge yourself to find a backroad that you've never taken. Look for opportunity to immerse yourself in the wonders of nature. Pack a simple picnic, bring a bottle of vino, a baguette, a block of cheese and a blanket and enjoy your picnic in a sheltered cove or meadow clearing, forest trail, or by a creek. You think it up. You find it. Stay open to surprise and wonder. Make every moment an opening for something new. Notice the wildflowers. When we incorporate novelty and new experience into everyday life, time has a tendency to stretch out, making your time seem so much longer than just another blink of an eye weekend. Time to rejuvenate and refresh. |
